EditShare EFS File Auditing

Nyhedstekst:

Recent high profile content thefts at Sony Pictures, Netflix, and HBO were a wakeup call for the entire Media & Entertainment segment. Led by the efforts of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA), and others, security vulnerabilities are being identified and closed.

EFS File Auditing answers the question “Who did what, to which of my files, and when did they do it?”

EFS File auditing

EFS File Auditing revolves around three essential components. The first component is a native mechanism to log file system activities such as media space mounting, file opens, file reads, file moves, file saves, and deletions. The second component provides audit logs with dedicated, redundant storage to ensure that no auditable events are missed. The third component is a powerful, in-situ auditing application that enables the system EFS administrator to review or analyze audit logs without needing to plow through system log files.

The in-situ auditing application provides a dashboard and tools to filter activity by timeframe, by user, by IP address, by file event type, by file name (with wildcards), as well as combinations of these attributes. An easy to understand graphical summary is a great alternative to plowing through the tsunami of audit log data generated in a typical post production facility.

Two File Auditing configurations will be supported. A limited use configuration will store audit information on the EFS OS drives. Because EFS OS drive space is limited, users will only be able to store a limited amount of audit information. However, this configuration, which has no additional cost, is a great way to evaluate or demonstrate EFS File Auditing capabilities. An alternative configuration provides 512 GB of redundant storage dedicated to file audit information. This extra-cost option provides “weeks to months” of file audit activity, depending on the level of user activity on the EFS storage.

Virtually none of our competitors can offer anything like EFS File Auditing today. Therefore we will be the first choice for studios, production companies and post-production service providers to demonstrate the capability of audit activities in their facility.
